Financial advisors often service hundreds of households, making it virtually impossible for them to deeply understand your unique goals, values, and life circumstances. Our client to advisor ratio is held below 100 to 1. What this means for clients is:

  1. You love drama… you read a headline and immediately catastrophize. There is nothing wrong with being freaked out by a headline, but if you keep returning to the same purveyors of panic over and over again, then you’re not going to like working with us. We’re not going to share financial gossip with you, nor fan it, or feed it.
  2. You’re looking to get rich quick, by trying to outsmart the entire population of the world. That Facebook ad for an investment “opportunity” or exciting hot stock pick, probably isn’t the thing that is going to provide you with generational wealth. Investing with us, is… boring.
  3. You’re still taking advice from your uncle who made a killing last month day trading from his parent’s basement. You can pick us or him, either one is alright with us. We just won’t work together with him managing your financial future. In the same way, he wouldn’t want us on his Fortnite raiding party.
  4. You’re looking for us to cosign on your crazy investment ideas… we don’t validate crazy.
  5. You still want to DIY it. Nothing wrong with that. Make your own almond milk. You’ll save a ton on almond milk fees. Just grow your own almonds, milk them, put it in a bottle, and enjoy. Easy, right?


How we work with folks…

  • We’ll have a conversation about what you need and find out if we can help.  If it seems like we both want to work with each other, then, over several meetings we:
    • Gather data (Portfolio Statements, Mortgage Statements, etc.)
    • Define your life’s financial goals
    • Present a plan
    • Implement a plan
    • Make adjustments to that plan as needed
  • Meetings are held through Zoom or phone calls
  • Correspondence is primarily through email, occasionally there will be a form that requires ink.


What does it cost?

Financial Planning

When we present you with the path to achieving your financial goals, it comes in the form of a financial plan.  It’s your detailed roadmap, tailored specifically to your wants, needs, and means.  We help you implement the plan, defend your wealth, maintain the course, pivot as the need arises, and help identify and avoid financial mistakes that would potentially cost you years of extra work. 

We estimate how many hours your plan will take us to complete and give you a quote ahead of time.  We calculate it based on an hourly rate of $400.  We have no idea what this will cost you because we don’t know anything about you.  You’re reading this off the website, so we don’t even know your name at this point.  But let’s give you a range - there’s probably not a universe where it’s going to take less than 6 hours for a single person with a simple financial picture to 10 hours for your average couple.  If you’ve got RSUs with vesting schedules, options, ESPP, a 136-page SPD, a side business, multiple properties, and a pending liquidity event, then you’re going to take some time, and you know it, and you can afford it.

Investment Management

After you have a plan, and it makes sense for us to manage your money, then the most common way we do that is through an advisory account.  Below is a sample standard fee schedule:

1.5% for the first $300,000

1.25% for the next $700,000

.75% over $1,000,000

.70% over $10,000,000

.60% over $20,000,000

.40% over $50,000,000

.25% over $100,000,000

Given the break point schedule above, it would be approximately a 0.94% advisory fee on $3 Million.
